Sophomore outside hitter Sydney Ritz, a 2016 graduate of Wayland High School, has earned honorable all-conference volleyball accolades at Siena Heights University.
Ritz, who also was a basketball standout at Wayland, enjoyed a breakout season for Siena Heights in 2017. The 5-foot-10 outside emerged as one of the top hitters in the league ranking 11th in kills per set, averaging 2.4. She also led the Cougars in kills with 263. Behind Ritz, SAU had its best offensive season since 2010, hitting .162 as a team and averaging 12.3 kills per set.
For the third consecutive season, Spring Arbor improved its win total. The Cougars posted 10 victories this season, the most by the program since the 2011 campaign.
