The Wayland girls’ softball team lifted its overall record to 12-1 and its O-K Gold Conference record to 6-0 with a doubleheader sweep Tuesday over Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

Senior ace pitcher Mallory Teunissen threw a perfect game at the Cougars in the opener. One of the games was a 29-0 verdict.

The Lady Wildcats are rated No. 3 in the latest state-wide Class B poll, behind only Livonia Ladywood and Stevensville Lakeshore.
