The Hopkins, Martin and Wayland public school, districts will be closed for the second straight day Tuesday, and this time the reason for all three will be the weather.
Hopkins was closed Monday because of frigid and inclement weather, but Martin and Wayland were closed because professional development designations.
The continued deep freeze Tuesday pushed regular Fahrenheit temperatures below 10 degrees and wind chills to between 15 and 25 below zero, so all three and most West Michigan schools shut down for the day.
The situation also resulted in closure of entities such as Christian Neighbors and local libraries.
