The 11 bat houses constructed by volunteers Jon Jensen and Don Borgic for Lori Howell’s third-graders at Steeby Elementary are now gracing the Rabbit River Trail. The bat breeding boxes were deliberately placed along the trail because of its proximity to water and woods. The houses are very quiet during the day because bats are nocturnal animals. What a great idea to keep the mosquito population in check! Great job kids!
