Students in Danielle Hoskins’s third grade class at Steeby Elementary have been growing several different kinds of lettuce and basil in their vertical hydroponic garden in the classroom since the start of the school year, and now it is ready to be enjoyed. The students thought of some fun topping ideas for their salads. They enjoyed the salads at the end of the day Friday, Dec. 13, and watched a short video about “Farm-to-Table Agriculture.”

I think its great for young kids to learn that food does not originate at the store. Good job teacher Hoskins. My hat is off to You.
