Wayland and northeast Allegan County essentially escaped the worst of a huge snowstorm that snarled traffic and cut power to the southeast with as much as a foot of heavy snow. These parts were nailed with about two to three inches and all of the white stuff was melted by sun and 40-degree temperatures early Saturday morning. Tonya Lyons Friday afternoon noted the last of winter action until she traveled south along the U.S.-131 expressway (photo above). Ray and Mayor Jennifer Antel seemed to demonstrate the “no problem” phase of the storm while traveling to a quiet symposium Saturday morning.
