The Yankee Springs Township Fire Department responded to a report around noon Sunday of a structure fire at a residence in Yankee Springs Township.
With the aid from Mutual Aid Partners (Hastings FD and Thornapple Twp. FD) the pole barn suffered mainly smoke damage.
However, the vehicle inside the structure was a total loss. The building was kept closed until it was entered by firefighters. The quick information received by Barry County Central Dispatch to the response and action from all of the firefighters from Hastings, Thornapple Township., Yankee Springs Township and Barry County Central Dispatch averted a total loss to the structure.
A spokesperson for the departments said, “Working together and sharing resources we can accomplish great things through communication, cooperation and coordination!”
