Three former Wayland High School gridiron stars are listed on the Hope College football team’s roster this fall.

The trio are junior running back Mike Miklusicak and freshmen Mike Kelly and Macarty Carpenter.

Miklusicak was the leading ground gainer on the 2012 Wildcat team that qualified for the playoffs. Kelly was the the top receiver on last fall’s team, and he led the squad in touchdowns scored. Carpenter was a starting lineman a year ago and is listed at 320 pounds. Look for him to be on the track team next spring, as he was O-K Gold Conference champion in the shot put.

Hope will begin its season this Saturday at home against nonleague opponent Monmouth (Ill.) An NCAA Division III school, Hope competes in the MIAA, the oldest athletic conference in the nation.
