Three public forums on the Nov. 7 Wayland Union schools’ scaled-back $19.25 million bond proposal will be held next month at three different locations.

The first is planned for 6 to 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Dorr Elementary before the Parent-Teacher Organization meeting. The second will be at 7  p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in the media center at Wayland Middle School, 701 Wildcat Drive. The third forum is slated for 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Pine Street Elementary.

Superintendent Norm Taylor said voters will see a new, scaled-back proposal entirely different from the two proposals totaling $55 million that voters turned down in May. This time it will be one proposal dealing the district’s most pressing needs and will not require a millage increase, but instead extend the length of the bond.
