Three residents appointed to rebooted City Tree Board

city-of-wayland-logoThree local residents applied to be members of the rejuvenated Wayland City Tree Board and all three were approved Monday night by the Wayland City Council.

Kyle Croy, Gail Hollinger and former Mayor Burrell Stein all were appointed to join Councilwoman Tracy Bivins, DPW Superintendent Cole Lutz, and Arborist Mike Conner. City Manager Tim McLean also will work with the Tree Board in an advisory, non-voting capacity.

McLean also said Conner will be working on tree planting on East Sycamore and Hanlon Court over the next few weeks.

The Tree Broad was rebooted after Hollinger admonished the City Council for permitting a large number of trees to be removed during construction projects on East Sycamore and Hanlon Court and for permitting removal of a tree planted in the City Park by the local Garden Club in memory of a former member.

After offering profuse apologies, city officials have begun the work of restoring trees and the Tree Board.
