A three-vehicle traffic crash Tuesday on M-222 just west of the U.S.-131 expressway resulted in two people being taken to the hospital. One was listed in serious condition.
Deputies with the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department said an SUV was traveling east on 116th Avenue near 14th Street in Watson Township and tried to pass an eastbound pickup truck in the westbound lane. When there was not enough room to pass, the SUV cut back into the eastbound lane and struck the end of the pickup, causing it to spin out and flip.
The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. Tuesday. An SUV traveling in the westbound lane also was hit, deputies said.
The names of the crash victims were not released.
