Physical education teacher Betty Onopa coordinates the Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart fund-raisers every year for the American Heart Association at Dorr Elementary School. During the students’ gym class, third-graders jumped rope and fourth-graders played a variety of fun basketball relays and contests. Prizes and medals were given out to the students who participated and reached certain levels of fund-raising. The total amount raised for the charity will be released by the end of the month.
