A joint funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday for a mother and her two children who were killed in a triple homicide in Dorr Township March 10.
The service is scheduled at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2780 Leonard St. NE, in Grand Rapids. A lunch will be held after the service, but there will be no public visitation.
The ceremony will honor Debra Sheppard, 33, and children,Emma McComber, 12, and Corey LaValley Jr., 10. The three were found dead after a fire in a mobile home where they lived in the 2300 block of Briarwood. It was determined by authorities that they had been shot and killed before the fire.
Corey LaValley Sr., Sheppard’s boyfriend and the father of Corey Jr., now is facing three counts of murder and two other charges in connection with the incident.
A donation fund to help with the family’s expenses for the funeral has been started .
