Two former Wayland High School softball standouts played important roles this month in Calvin University’s spring trip.
Pitcher Emma Ludema tossed a two-hit, 2-0 shutout win over Massachussetts-Dartmouth Saturday to hike her season record to 3-0.
Earlier this week, WHS grad Emma Tornes cracked a double and drove in three runs against Regis University.
Calvin completed the annual trip with a record of 8-1.
Both Ludema and Tornes were all-state selections during their prep days at Wayland.
