Two former Wayland High School softball standouts have earned post-season accolades at Davenport University.

Sophomore Mallory Teunissen was selected to the all-Wolverine-Hoosier Conference first team as a pitcher and Hayley Obetts, a senior first and third sacker, was recognized all-academic.

Teunissen, who pitched Wayland to the state Division II championship in 2015, threw her way to a team high 18 wins this season. She finished with a 1.58 era, an 18-4 record and 116 strikeouts. She led the team with 16 complete games and only gave up 107 hits during 133 total innings pitched.

Teunissen is second in the league this season with her 1.58 era, tied for second in wins and third in strikeouts. She currently ranks first in Davenport University history with the fewest walks allowed per seven inning game (1.34).

Obetts has been a starting regular for the Panthers since her sophomore year.
