Grace Sefranik (shown above, right) and Jerry Jansen III (cover photo) were sworn in officially as newest members of the Wayland City Council Nov. 20 by City Clerk Leanne Claussen. Sefranik had the second most number of votes in the Nov. 7 election with 261 in a four-way contest for three open seats. Jansen edged incumbent Tracy Bivins by a single vote, 245 to 244 and Bivins declined for file for a recount.
