U.S.-131 bridge repair slows traffic near Dorr

This was the scene Thursday on northbound U.S.-131, a mile north of the Dorr exit (No. 68) with traffic slowed to a crawl to stop at Wayland.

The off ramp traffic squeeze into one lane will continue until the bridge construction is complete Complicating the situation is heavy semi truck traffic merging to right lanes.

One motorist advised, “If you can endure six to nine miles of crawling proceed. If not, take Division to 100th Street ramp to 131 northbound, where the traffic is back to the speed limit on two lanes.”

The Michigan Department of Transportation is handling repairs of the overpass after a semi-truck struck it earlier this month.
