The bridge over 100th Street at the U.S-131 expressway has been struck for the third time in four months.

Authorities this morning indicated that northbound traffic near that site was slowed to a crawl as a result.

Michigan State Police from the Wayland post were summoned to the scene after it was reported a semi-truck pulling a crane struck the overpass while northbound on the highway.

Emergency crews assessed damages and worked to clear the scene, according to officials from the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Two semi-trucks damaged the bridge Jan. 12, causing temporary closure of the highway and indefinite closure to westbound traffic on 100th Street. MDOT officials said westbound 100th Street will be closed for at least another six months for overpass repairs.

Something has to be done about these negligent truckers! Anyone can get CDL license it seems. The trucks are the biggest problem on the road. Just a bunch of rocket scientists behind the wheel and causing havoc everyday . Do something about this mess.
