The Allegan County United Way organization now has gone through two directors since the retirement of Mimi Gabriel of Hopkins three years ago.
The United Way last month parted ways with Executive Director Denise Hartsough of Kalamazoo, who came on board in February 2014. She is returning to her job as owner of Hartsough Consultants LLC of Kalamazoo, a firm that provides services to non-profits.
Gabriel was executive director for six years before retiring June 30, 2013. Sue Ann Culp was named her successor in July, but she resigned in October 2013, causing Gabriel to come out of retirement temporarily.
Hartsough was chosen for the position in February 2014.
The executive director’s job being advertised includes a salary range of $59,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
The job description reports, “The executive director is the leader of the organization who is responsible for driving the vision by developing goals and objectives, they also run the day-to-day business.”
Other duties include fund development and policies and procedures implementation.
Minimum requirements for the job are a bachelor’s degree and a preference for three to five years of experience in an executive leadership role.
Gabriel this time, however, will not serve temporarily as interim director until someone is selected.
