The cause of out the outage was “confessed” on Facebook by Lisa Harnish of Hopkins, who said a truck and trailer driven by her husband, Larry, struck a power box.

Ms. Harnish commented, “Eh….sorry for the power outage in Wayland. Larry was taking a load of wood to my parents and the trailer got a flat tire, which made it unhook from the truck and took out a power box. Nobody was injured, thankfully…just a lot of people inconvenienced. Again…sorry.”

Great Lake Energy crews took care of the problem and Deputy Fire Chief Dan Miller said power had been restored before 9 p.m.
