Vern Hyde aged 90 of 
Leighton Township and Zephyrhills, Fla., died Friday, July 22.
Leighton Township and Zephyrhills, Fla., died Friday, July 22.Vern was a World War II Navy veteran, past president of the Steelcase Retiree Care Center, active in Community West Credit Union and a member of Maplelawn Baptist Church for more than 60 years.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Laura; children, Steve Hyde, Linda Pitchellis, Salli (Don) Rawlins, Tom (Lisa) Hyde; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob (Edna) Mol and Lewis Hyde; grandson, Derik Pitchellis
A celebration of Vern’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Maplelawn Baptist Church, 124 Maplelawn St. SW. His family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maplelawn Baptist Church Roof Fund in Vern’s name.
