Veyda Coney sets Martin 1600-meter record again

The Martin boys’ and girls’ track teams finished 16th and 13th, respectively, in the Southwest Athletic Conference meet at Lawton Monday.

The Clipper girls scored 21 team points, while Gobles finished first. The guys scored seven points.

Sophomore distance sensation Veyda Conley broke her own school record in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:25.08, which made her all conference honorable mention. She was also second team all-conference in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:05.

Peyton Schuring-Harris was honorable mention by finishing third in shot put by throwing 46’ 3”.

Alex Morin ran the 1600 in 5:05 and the 3200 in 12:18.
