The Hopkins girls finished eighth among 13 cross-country teams at the Allendale Invitational Saturday.

Hopkins recorded 220 team points. Hart won the meet with 34 points, Clare had 78 and host Allendale 92.

Junior ace Todd Henley continued his streak of finishing either first or second in every boys’ meet this season by finishing runner-up to Seamus Noonan of the Grand Rapids Track Club by just2.6 seconds. Henley turned in a personal best time of 16:03.9 and has his sights set on breaking 16 minutes over a 5K course.

Jasmine Fisher led the Lady Vikings with a 24th-place finish in 20:20:12.1.Laura Velderman was 29th in about a dozen seconds more. Emma Helder was 44th, sophomore Alexis Zalis 61st and Hannah Crouch 72nd.

The Viking boys were 12th among 18 teams, just two points away from 11th. Hopkins had 307 points. Hart won it with 90 and McBain and Saugatuck were and second and third, in that order.

Dan Rausch once again was second to Henley with a 50th-place finish in 18:07. Zach Nutter was 68th, Andrew Hazen 11th and Joe Ludlam 113th.
