The Hopkins boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Wyoming Lee 63-54 Tuesday night to move over the .500 mark for the season overall.

The Vikings now have a season record of 9-8 and their O-K Silver Conference record is 4-7.

Coach Jake Jewitt said the Vikings had balanced scoring, moved the basketball well and took advantage of mismatches. He said the Rebels shot well in the second half to cut into their halftime deficit to 11 points, but a good team effort by the Vikings sealed the victory.

Hopkins will close out conference play Friday night at home against NorthPointe Christian, with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.
