The Hopkins boys captured the O-K Silver title last February, but the going might be tough in the drive to repeat.

Repeating as O-K Silver Conference champions in boys’ bowling may be more difficult than previously believed. But the Lady Vikings started the season with a bang Saturday.

Hopkins girls took first and Kelloggsville second. Hazel Smith was first individually and Courtney Tortorelli for the Lady Vikings

The guys wound up third in the pre-conference tournament at Paragon Lanes in Grand Rapids, behind Belding and Kelloggsville. The Viking boys finished five pins behind Kelloggsville.

Among  the top five guys in the tournament Zach Mohr was fourth from Hopkins.

It was Paragon’s first high school tournament so score sheets were not printed out, nor were awards presented.
