Hannah Brinks struck out 13 batters to lead Hopkins past Forest Hills Central 14-1 Friday in the first game of a doubleheader. Brinks gave up five hits and one run over five innings while walking two.
Hopkins jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Lyla Reynolds doubled, scoring one run, Brinks singled, scoring one run, Cami Hibma homered to center field, scoring two, Rhi Brefke singled, scoring one, and Madison Schwartz singled, scoring onen.
Hopkins added to its early lead in the top of the second inning after Forest Hills Central committed an error, and Jessi Spray singled, each scoring one run.
A single by Reynolds extended the Vikings’ lead to 9-1 in the top of the third inning.
Hopkins defeated Forest Hills Central 9-1 Friday in the nightcap.
Freshman Gracie Stallard earned the win on the mound , She gave up four hits and one run (unearned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking none.
The Vikings got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning after Lyla Reynolds doubled, and Cami Hibma singled, each scoring one run.

Hopkinsadded three more runs in the bottom of the sixth on five hits. Madison Schwartz singled, scoring one run, and hard-hitting Ava Vanderkolk homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Hopkins collected 12 hits in the game. Reynolds provided pop in the middle of the lineup with three runs batted in. She went 3-for-3 on the day.
Brinks and Vanderkolk each collected multiple hits for Hopkins and Vanderkolk stole two bases.
The Vikings will return to O-K Silver Conference play Monday a twin bill against Sparta. They are 9-1 in the league and 21-6 overall.
