Hopkins ran into the No. 1-ranked Class B basketball in the state Tuesday and lost to Wyoming Godwin Heights 81-61.

The Vikings were down 53-30 at the end of the first half.

The Godwin pressure defense was more than the Vikings have seen this year and the Wolverines coasted in the second half to the win, said coach Nate Mitchell.

The Vikings were led in scoring by freshman Drew Weber with 13 points.

Hopkins travels to Calvin Christian Friday for another O-K Silver Conference battle. The Vikings now are 3-5 on the season overall and 2-1 in league play.

That's so weird. Such a big uproar to get the coach fired because he wanted to bring up some under classmen. And this one in particular has been the leading scorer a few times this year. Trust me the coach knew exactly what he was doing but some parents that don't have a clue have to ruin everything

:( It´s to bad that the parents that created all the trouble about the coach didnt stop for a minute to think about how much this would affect the team, because they might think it doesnt....but it does. On and off the court! There is no I in TEAM!
