The Hopkins varsity baseball team lost 7-3 to Calvin Christian in the O-K Silver Conference opener Wednesday afternoon.
The defeat came a day after Hopkins lost to Calvin 5-4 on a walk-off hit batsman Tuesday at the Squires’ field.
The Vikings fell behind 2-0 in the first inning Wednesday, but knotted the score with a two-run double by Carson DeLeo. Calvin Christian, however, responded with two more runs in the second frame and never trailed afterward.
Alex Rewa absorbed the loss on the mound and Braeden Gill and Jake Pals came on in relief.
DeLeo was the offensive leader for Hopkins with wto hits and a couple of runs batted in.
The Vikings, now 1-3 overall, hope to resume O-K Silver play Monday at home against Wyoming Godwin Heights.
