Hopkins scored three runs 
in the first inning Monday and was able to hang on the rest of the way to post a 3-0 victory over O-K Silver Conference rival Calvin Christian.
The Vikings scored in the first on a steal of home by Austin Black, a steal of home by Gossman Brenden, and an RBI single by Caleb Ryan. Black got on base four times in the game.
Zach Brechting kept Calvin Christian off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the rubber. He yielded three hits while ringing up six strikeouts. It was his second shutout of the season, as he did the same two weeks ago to NorthPointe Christian 5-0.
The Vikings now are 5-4-1 overall for the season.
