The Hopkins football team Friday clinched its first Division 5 post-season playoff appearance with a convincing 52-12 victory at Calvin Christian.
It was essentially no contest from the start, with the Vikings scoring the first 46 points unanswered.
Hopkins now owns a 6-1 overall record and six victories guarantee a berth in post-season action. It’s the first time since 2014 it will play more than nine games.
The Vikings, who suffered their only loss 43-35 in their second game at Olivet, will play next Friday at Wyoming Lee and then will close out the regular season the following Friday at home against Kelloggsville in a quest to take the O-K Silver Conference championship.
