An early lead helped Hopkins  defeat Lee 10-2 Monday in an O-K Silver Conference baseball matchup.

Hopkins took a 1-0 lead on an error in the first inning and then scored four in the third. Singles by Zach Brechting, a error, and a single by Ezran Tehennepe led the rally.

Brechting earned the win on the mound. He tossed six and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs, four hits, striking out 12, and walking one.

Hopkins collected 12 hits. Brenden Gossman, Brechting, and Caleb Ryan each collected two hits to lead the attack.

Hopkins’ overall season record now is 15-4-1 and the Vikings are in first place in the O-K Silver Conference.
