Nancy Louise (Freeland) Bos, 89, of Wayland, died Monday, Jan. 17.

The daughter of Russell and Marian Freeland, she was born and raised in Grand Rapids graduating from South High School and moved to Wayland in 1972. Her husband, Don Bos, died in 2018.

She was an attentive mother and grandmother and worked most of her life; first, as a Michigan Bell Telephone operator in Grand Rapids and retiring as the cook at Sandy Creek Nursing Home in Wayland.

She is survived by her five children and their partners Don and Alicia (Mrquez) Bos of Austin (TX), Sandy and Brian Larsen of Wayland, Michael and Dawn (Kerley) Bos of Wayland, Cathy Bos and Ruth Terpstra of Hopkins Township, and Mary and Rob Griffith of Wayland Township; her first cousin Carol (White) Hendershot of Rockford; eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Gorden Funeral Residence in Hopkins from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22. Interment in Rest Lawn Cemetery, 3448 Eastern Ave., Grand Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation online or sent to 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fla., 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
