Dennis Keith French Sr., age 77, died Friday at his home in Wayland.
Dennis loved working with his hands. He loved to work on cars, John Deere tractors, and tinkering in his pole barn. His pride and joy was his garden. He would work from sun up to sun down making sure not a single weed was present. He loved being outside.
Dennis worked at General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 39 years, Belinda “Wendy” French; children Dennis French Jr. of Newaygo, Melissa (Brandon) Crofoot of Newaygo, Sara Hathaway of White Cloud, Anthony French of Mansfield, TX, Dennis French II of Bedford, IN, Michelle Beach of NC, Eric French of Rockford,, Monique French of Key Largo, FL, Crystal (Greg) Blackburn of NC, April Wilson of Grand Rapids, Brian (Stephanie Vipond) Wilson of Shelbyville, and Dale Wilson of Wayland; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother, Cynthia French of Dansville, MI; siblings Norma Andrews of Dansville, Roger (Norma) French of Howe, TX, Maureen (Greg Linker) French of Battle Creek, Terry (Lynn) French of Carleton, MI, and many extended family and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe French.
Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at 4 One 2 Distillery, 739 S. Main St., Wayland.
