The Hopkins Elementary School water advisory was lifted Wednesday after the Allegan County Health Department expressed concerns about lead levels last June.
Health Department officials, in a statement, reported, “Ten water samples were taken on Sept. 18 and all tested well below the action level exceedance for lead. Testing on August 28 and September 3 & 4 also indicated the water was well below the action level exceedance.
“The school will now be testing for lead semi-annually. The results of these tests will determine future testing cycles.”
The Health Department commended Hopkins Public Schools for its prompt attention in dealing with the issue.
