The Watson Township Board has scheduled an in-person budget workshop for 7 p.m. Monday, March 22, at the township hall.

The board, in its first non-virtual meeting since November, will work on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2021-22, which begins on April 1.

In other business at Thursday’s virtual meeting, the board:

  • Announced it will let bids for mowing and lawn care, including township hall and cemeteries, with a deadline set at April 1. Bids will be opened at the April 1 meeting.
  • Scheduled the annual cleanup days for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, March 15 and Oct. 2, at the township hall, with four dumpsters available
  • Approved the appointment of Owen Dennis Ramey to a seat on the Planning Commission being vacated by Barbara Wrobleski. Ramey served on the Planning Commission for Wayland City until about eight years ago.
