Watson Township Board appointments confirmed

kevin-travishelen-goyingsThe Watson Township Board Thursday evening confirmed several appointments.

One, newcomer Helen Goyings, may wind up in other places in township government. Goyings, who has lived in the township for only seven months and has owned property here for two years, was named to the Board of Review along with Christie Fontaine and Rod Zeinstra. However, she has served on the Alamo Township Planning Commission and was chairwoman for five years.

The board is still seeking someone to fill the sexton’s position left vacant by the departure of former Township Supervisor Pam Brown. New Supervisor Kevin Travis will be the board’s representative on the Fire Board.

Also confirmed was the appointment of Joe Albers to the Planning Commission succeeding Michelle Harris, who was elected to a trustee’s seat in November. Harris will be the board’s representative on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Chuck Andrysiak will return as the board’s representative on the Planning Commission.

Kelly Kivall was appointed deputy clerk and Lyndsey Claremont deputy treasurer in the board’s December meeting. Barb Wrobleski and Amy Germain last month were selected to be the township’s representatives on the Hopkins District Library Board.
