The Wayland boys’ varsity basketimgball team will be one of 10 teams to take part Saturday in the second annual Red Hawks Showcase at Grand Rapids Union High School.

The Wildcats, now 10-1 on the season overall, will take on Stevensville Lakeshore at the 1 p.m. game.

*Stevensville Lakeshore’s lineup includes 6-foot-11 senior center Braden Burke, who plans to play Division 1 basketball at Robert Morris University. The Wildcats’ 6-7 center Zack Nieukoop has indicated an interest in a scholarship offer from Division 2 Ferris State University. Burke also had offers from Western Michigan, Oakland and Appalachian State.

The rest of the day’s team matchups in four other ballgames are:

• 3 p.m. – Detroit Allen Academy vs. NorthPointe Christian

• 4:30 p.m. – New Haven vs. Lowell

• 6 p.m. – Detroit Cornerstone vs. Union

• 7:30 p.m. – Saginaw vs. Godwin Heights

Host officials have reported Red Hawks Showcase the field will have 15 players who have received Division 1 offers or attention.
