The community of Wayland this weekend has been celebrating its annual Summerfest a little earlier than usual. The festival included lots of food and booths with wares for sale, a lot of musical guests performing on stages, fun and frolicking at the City Park (including the ever-popular splash pad) and a chance for folks to reconnect after a pandemic that separated so many. The celebration winds down Sunday with a community church service in the park and more food, folks and fun. Because of a forecast of much-needed rain, New Life Church decided to have its 9 and 11 a.m. services indoors.
