The Wayland Community Quilters have organized to make quilts for those in need.

The group’s first project is making lap quilts for patients at the Wings Home in Allegan, a project of the Wings of Hope Hospice. Wings Home serves those at the end of life in a home setting, providing comfort for patients and support for their families. The Home is supported by community donors so that there is no charge to patients.

The group encourages all who sew or quilt to join them on the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the United Church of Wayland, 411 E. Superior Street, Wayland. Please bring sewing machines and sewing/quilting supplies and look forward to a day of fellowship and fun with others. Lunch will be provided.

For more information, or to donate 100% cotton material, quilting supplies or financial support, please contact Nancy Whitley at whitley.tn@gmail.com or Gail Hollinger at gailhollinger@earthlink.net
