The Wayland City Council Monday evening dealt with three bids, approving three purchases.
The council approved bids from:
- LaFountaine Dodge of Lansing for $40,903, buying a new police cruiser to replace the old 2012 Chevy Tahoe.
- Tailored Closet of Wixom for $33,000 to replace old worn out and chipped flooring at the fire station.
- VC3 IT Services to replace the same technological emergency communication services from Vista. City Manager Josh Eggleston said Vista’s corporate practices were not compatible with city policy, so the switch was made.
- In other business Monday night, the council:
- Adopted a resolution for procedural disposal of surplus property, a mobile kitchen.
- Was told by City Clerk Lee Ann Clausen that four new temporary clerks are taking training to work during three elections in 2024 as a result of the nine-day open voting requirement of Proposal 2 of 2022.
- Noted that the start of leaf pickup in the city will be Monday, Oct. 23, and all residents are reminded to put leaves at the curb, not on the street.
