Wayland Fire Department asks residents not to burn — yet

The Wayland Fire Department Saturday morning posted an appeal on Facebook to local residents not to burn yard waste, sticks, twigs, branches and leaves. Officials said lack of rain and warm, windy and dry conditions could make burning hazardous. Those interested in yard cleanup may be encouraged that prospects are reported as good for rain Saturday night and Sunday morning.
