Members of the Wayland High School Class of 1964 is getting ready for their 60th, not 50th reunion Sept. 15. The Class of ’64 was famous for winning the Expressway Conference basketball championship with a starting five of Ron Kidney, Gary Henningson (back row, center), Bill Holbrook, Roger Nagle and Rich Overmire. Holbrook later married one of the cheerleaders, Sandy Kotrba, and together they raised a son, Bill Holbrook, who came to Wayland as a girls’ bowling coach and left for the greener pastures in the collegiate ranks. Two other ’64 members in this photo wed back in the 1960s, Joe Miller and Joan Morgenstern (flanking Henningson in the back row).
