Wayland High School to go all virtual classes Tuesday

Wayland Union High School will have all remote classes again Tuesday, April 20.

The move follows going all on-line Monday, but the reason this time is that the decision shouldn’t be made after the Board of Education meeting to determine the school’s course of action for the next two weeks and the reconfirmation of the Extended COVID-19 Learning (ECOL) plan.

“We want staff, students and families to have time to prepare without waiting for an update late this evening,” said Superintendent Dr. Christina Hinds. “Please watch for updates following tonight’s Board of Education meeting.”

Students should expect to follow a typical “bell schedule” with hourly instruction with their teachers and peers. Students without Internet access will have the opportunity to make up missed assignments.

Children who attends the tech center, ACATEC,will not be able to attend classes in-person. ACATEC students should log into their LMS for their work and contact their ACATEC teacher with any questions.

Athletic events and athletic rapid COVID-19 testing will continue as scheduled.

Wayland High School has shut down the last two days because of reported high numbers of cases of the Covid-19 virus.
