The Wayland Kiwanis Club has decided to dissolve after the end of this month.
In a statement issued today, a club spokesperson wrote that club members, “truly enjoyed being part of the community over the years. From supporting K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Reading Month, Kids Day, Easter Egg Hunt, Back to School party and so much more!
“It has been an absolute honor supporting and helping the kids in the Wayland Union Schools district.”
The local club’s last community activity will be the “Return to Learn” Back to School Carnival at the high school from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday afternoon and evening, Aug. 16.
With the remaining funds the group had, it made monetary donations to Wayland Union Schools, Wayland EMS, Wayland Education Foundation
Henika District Library and Kiwanis of Michigan Children’s Foundation.
