Allegan County Circuit Court Judge Marge Bakker will sentence a 51-year-old Wayland man who pleaded guilty to charges in connection with possession and sharing child pornography images.

Frank Dean Simmons has pleaded to one count of child sexually abusive activity last March in Wayland when he he sent sexually explicit pictures of minors on his phone to a co-worker. He was arrested by Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies in April.

Simmons since then has admitted some of the pictures are of children as young as 5 to 7 years old.

Because of an agreement, Simmons’s guilty plea, one count of possession of child sexually abusive material and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime will be dropped. He will have to register with the Michigan Sex Offender Register as a tier II sex offender.
