The Wayland Union High School band received fourth place with a score of 81.5 Saturday at the Hastings Invitational Marching competition. Director Kelly Tilley Smith said,” That’s a 16-point increase from Rockford!” (the previous Saturday).
The band also achieved excellence in music honors during the invitational. at which the ensemble performed “Hungarian Rhapsody in Blue.”
