Former Wayland Police Chief Dan Miller this morning said he saw police in front of the local Harding’s Market, attempting to limit the panic buying that has resulted from the Coronavirus crisis.

“They are having very short periods of time where they will be limiting the number of people in the store so they can better serve you,” Miller said. “Please be patient and courteous as they are managing the best they can.”

Store officials said they need some down time to restock food and other items.

Harding’s is offering senior citizens only  hours Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. Open hours are daily from 8 am-8pm (please leave the senior Wednesday hours of 8am-10am to the 60+ seniors only).

“They will not close down, so there is no need to make an urgent trip to stock up on supplies,” Miller added. “They are deemed essential and will remain open. There is plenty of food (no toilet as of this post). Any temporary closures are for shopping carts to become available.”
