Members of the Wayland High School Robotics team, #6090, will leave Tuesday for Houston to take part in the world competition. The Wayland students and their coaches pulled off a state championship earlier this month at Saginaw Valley State University to earn the right to make the trip. Funding for the the trip, accommodations and appearance at the contests was provided by the Wayland Education Foundation, the sponsor, Wayland Union Schools and a GoFundMe campaign with 156 donors that was able to raise more than $10,000.
