The Wayland High School First Robotics team No. 6090 finished second Saturday at the the season’s first competition in Muskegon. The Wildcats lost in the tie-breaker criteria in the final round. This year’s theme “Deep Space” involved teams delivering balls and discs to goals in the form of spaceships. They maintained the highest offensive points of all 40 teams there, Team 6090 made it all the way to the finals with their alliance. The team won the Gracious Professionalism Award for helping other teams with their robot so they can compete. The team’s next competition will be in two weeks at East Kentwood. (Photo supplied)
