Wayland schools adds videos to Internet web site

Wayland Union Schools has added resource videos to their Parent University page to support parents during the COVID-19 crisis.  This page is found under the “Parents/Students” tab on the district’s website.

Staff members created videos on a variety of topics relating to mental health, literacy and navigating educational apps and software. The library of videos will be available on the Wayland Union Schools’ YouTube channel for future reference and more topics will be added as needs arise.

Topics Include:

  • Supporting student’s social/emotional health during school closure
  • Mindfulness
  • Organization (where to turn for help with locating your student’s tasks (Portal Inbox, Parent Portal contact preferences, how to find contact information for teachers (google doc) etc.)
  • Navigating Reading Eggs and Math Seeds
  • Navigating IXL
  • How to Read to/with your children
  • Navigating Google Classroom
  • and reading websites

Previously recorded videos on topics such as Using iPads and How to Manage Screen Time are also available on the YouTube channel.  The Parent University page will also keep a calendar of school offerings for parents so please refer back to this page for updates and future programs.
